Gonzaga guard Corey Kispert returns for Senior Season

Breaking news on NBA Draft decision day as Gonzaga guard Corey Kispert announces his return to Gonzaga. Kispert averaged 13.9 points and 4 rebounds per game a season ago, while he shot 43.8% from three and 47.4% from the floor. Kispert is an elite 3-and-D player, his ability to make both open and contested shots from deep was extremely important for the Bulldogs. Kispert can also guard other teams best players and has the ability to switch 1-4 in the modern-day. This Gonzaga team will be the likely preseason number one team in the sport going into next season.

Here’s a look at their Lineup going into next season:

PG: Joel Ayayi

SG: Jalen Suggs

SF: Corey Kispert

PF: Anton Watson

C: Drew Timme

Bench: Oumar Ballo, Aaron Cook (Southern Illinois), Julian Strawther, Martynas Arlauskas, Dominick Harris

Kispert being back is obviously massively important but the team is deep beyond just him. In the backcourt, Joel Ayayi is a player that can do everything. Ayayi is a really good defender, while he has the ability to switch 1-4 as well. Ayayi can run the point guard but play off ball, he’s a good shooter, who has the length to get off shots over good defense.

Jalen Suggs is going to be a force playing in the backcourt as well. Suggs is a high-IQ player who is a great defender and he makes the right reads on offense. Suggs should step in and be a good player from Day one. Southern Illinois transfer, Aaron Cook should step in and be a key piece playing in the sixth-man role.

Drew Timme is going to be an important piece for the Bulldogs inside, his abilities have made Sean a believer he can win National Player of the Year. Anton Watson should fill out the starting five, he’s a talented four-man who fits the prototypical 4-man spot. Oumar Ballo can step in and help in the frontcourt as well. Mark Few and his staff have raved about Ballo already, so him returning will be big.

Overall, this is a Gonzaga team that really has all the pieces that are needed. Assuming we get a season, Gonzaga will be the favorite to win the National Championship.
