Interview with Virginia Tech Guard, Jalen Cone.

First off, I’d like to thank Jalen for taking the time to chat. As a True Freshman, he averaged 8 points per game while shooting 45% from three, which was one of the top percentages in the country.

Q: Why did you reclassify to 2019 and was it a tough decision?

A: “It was a very tough decision, but I decided after my Junior Year of High School Basketball that I wanted to reclassify.”

Q: Why did you chose Virginia Tech?

A: “I knew I would be given an opportunity and I could thrive in Coach Young’s offense.”

Q: What are some of the biggest takeaways from your Freshman season and what would you like to work on?

A: “Really just improve on my confidence because I know what I can do and I know I can score at any level anytime I want. I also know I can get guys involved and get an assist. Just putting it all into play and showing everyone I can do it all.”

Q: With everything going on with the pandemic, how do you prepare for a season that has so much uncertainty?

A: “I’m taking advantage of this time to work on my craft and be as good as I can possibly be.”

Q: What are your goals personally and as a team?

A: “Personally the goal has always been to become an NBA All-Star and that’s still the goal of mine. As a team, I want to win and see all my teammates succeed and reach their full potential”
