Khristian Lander will reclassify and join Indiana this season

Indiana had previously landed a commitment from 2021 commit Kristian Lander, who looked to be someone that could make a big impact in a year. Fortunately for the Hoosiers though, the prospect has completed his high school work and will now be heading to Indiana for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

Lander is now ranked as the 17th best recruit in the class of 2020, according to 247 sports. Lander is a 6’2″ point guard from Evansville, Indiana. Lander is a left-handed guard that is known for his athleticism and ball-handling. Lander will look to try to step into a big role as the point guard for this Hoosiers team.

With Lander officially joining the team, Indiana is in position to be a preseason Top-25 team. Lander will join Rob Phinisee at the point guard sport, while both play the same position, Lander said to 247 sports “I feel like we are similar in some ways, but we can also play really well together.”

With the addition of Lander, the Hoosiers now have an extremely deep and talented team. Here’s their roster outlook:

PG: Kristian Lander

SG: Rob Phinisee

SF: Al Durham

PF: Justin Smith

C: Trayce Jackson-Davis

Bench: Armann Franklin, Race Thompson, Jerome Hunter, Joey Brunk, Anthony Leal

This is a really deep and talented team, while there wasn’t an NCAA Tournament a season ago, the Hoosiers would have been included had there been one. Adding a Five-Star recruit like Khristian Lander into a team that was returning mostly everyone should make the Hoosiers a team to look out for in the Big Ten.
