Staff Best Bets – February 15th

This week’s Saturday slate only pits two top 25 teams in action against each other, #1 Baylor versus #14 West Virginia. However, this does not mean there aren’t great games to be found, and we’ll give you our favorite ATS plays.

Tommy Fahey (Record 0-0)

Louisville -5.5 @ Clemson

The Cards are coming off a tough away loss in Atlanta against Georgia Tech, expect a bounce back game from Nwora and the rest of the Cardinals.

Richmond -1.5 vs VCU

In what could be the biggest mid major game of the day, the Spiders and Rams will square off in the Robins Center for the battle of Richmond. This game could determine the 3rd A-10 tournament team and I like Francis and the Spiders to take advantage of their home court in this one.

Virginia +2 @ UNC

In what normally would be a game between ACC powerhouses, it won’t draw nearly the same amount of attention as it normally does due to both teams down years, especially the Heels. I think the Hoos are finding their stride even though they looked shaky against Notre Dame, none the less it resulted in a win. I like a big game out of Clark and Diakite in order to get it done on the road.

Jonathon’s best bets. (YTD record 288-246-7)

Kansas-Oklahoma Under 135.5

The line in this game is anywhere from 10-12 which is probably accurate of the actual score result. The one line I like in this one is the under though. The two teams combined to score 118 in the first matchup in Norman. While I think the two teams score a little more in this one, 136 is a lot for this game.

Texas Tech -3 at Oklahoma State

These two met back in January and Texas Tech won by 35 points. This game is set to be a little bit closer but an improved Texas Tech team should be able to come out with a win. My personal rule as well is to take the team projected to win the game if the line is 3 or less.

Maryland +6.5 at Michigan State

I feel like this line is more of reflection of the narratives than it is actual on court skill. Maryland has been red-hot as of late, while Michigan State is still really inconsistent. I think Michigan State probably finds a way to win but asking them to win by 7 is a lot.
