The 6’1 guard from Tennessee commits to Cal. Foreman started his career at UT Chattanooga, but transferred to Stony Brook, where he played one season in which he had 15 PPG, while be shot 36% from three. Now he’s moving onto the PAC-12. Foreman will play a lot of minutes for coach Mark Fox, I doubt he starts over Penn graduate transfer Ryan Betley, but he could take over the starting spot at some point in the season. Cal’s biggest problem at the moment is their bench, so adding a good shooter who’s experienced will help a ton.
Here’s their projected rotation heading into next year
PG- Ryan Betley (Penn)
SG- Matt Bradley
SF- Grant Anticevich
PF- Andre Kelley
C- Lars Thiemann
Bench: Makale Foreman, Kuany Kuany, Joel Brown, Monty Bowser, Jalen Celestine, D.J. Thorpe.
I’m extremely high on Cal, most aren’t I am I think they are an NCAA bubble team or a back-end NIT team. I love Matt Bradley he’s a first-team All PAC-12 level player, Betley/Foreman are solid. Anticevich showed flashes last season and should be a good junior, Andre Kelley needs to be more consistent, Lars Thiemann has to get stronger but he had the potential to be a force. The bench is still slightly a concern assuming Fresno State transfer, Jarred Hyder doesn’t get a waiver but that’ll change things for the better if he’s able to get one. Mark Fox has done a great job fixing this program in his short time at Cal.
