Will Wade has offered Impermissible Benefits to 11 recruits, what does it mean for Will Wade and LSU?

ESPN has released a piece on Will Wade, the article states that Will Wade had offered impermissible benefits to 11 recruits, far more than anyone had imagined. He was caught on wiretap discussing a “Strong Ass offer” for guard Javonte Smart which obviously is problematic which led to Wade not coaching the remainder of the 2018-19 season.

Most imagined that was the last time he had coached for the Tigers, but he was reinstated after the season. Now it’s pretty safe to say he’s done coaching for LSU and coaching altogether. It is very hard to imagine that after this and likely will receive a very long maybe permanent ban. That’s not to say that there won’t be long-term issues for LSU as a program too. Oklahoma State was given a one year ban and scholarship reduction due to a rouge assistant receiving money from an agent to convince a player (Jeffery Carroll) to sign with his agency when he goes pro. That’s less against the rules than what Will Wade has done, and that’s not to say that there aren’t other coaches doing the same. Sean Miller has been under investigation, Andy Enfield and Bill Self are under investigation as well. I can only imagine what the punishment for LSU and Will Wade will be. A big group of transfers could leave the program, who knows when this punishment could come down and who knows where Will Wade will be at the time of this punishment.
