Xavier rallies to top St. John’s at MSG

New York, NY – In a battle between the Xavier Musketeers and St. John’s Red Storm, the away team prevailed as winners, by a score of 77-74.

This win puts the Musketeers at 6-7 in Big East and drops Mike Anderson’s St. John’s squad to 3-10 in conference play. The win in the Garden also hands this Xavier team the season sweep.

Rashad Dunn led all scorers in a losing effort with 17. Paul Scruggs paced the Musketeers team with 16, however, the Musketeers had 6 men in double figures, with both Naji Marshall and Tyrique Jones posting 15-point double-doubles.

Bracketology Effect: This is likely a Quadrant 2 win for Xavier, as they continue to try to raise their tournament seeding. For St. John’s it is nearly impossible for them to make the tournament sitting at 3-10 in the Big East.

Betting Effect:
Covered: Xavier -1.5, Over 141
